Where can you find the YMA outside of the mosque?

This section of the website will be dedicated to informing the community of events of the YMA outside of our mosque. One of the main objectives of any Islamic organization is to reach out to its community members. Keeping this in mind, the ICA, YMA and its spiritual leader are present at various forums and events outside of the mosque. You can read more about these events in the news.

5/31/2009 - Turning to Faith in the Face of Economic Despair - Eide Alawan, 69, of Dearborn was laid off in February from his job at a hospital. A devout Muslim, he prays five times a day — a practice that helped him endure. A couple of months later, he found another job.

“People who have a steady diet of prayer have an even-keel type of feeling that things will work out,” Alawan said. “It’s just a matter of time.”

YMA at the AIF - June 20th - 22nd

The Annual Arab International Festival takes place every year in Dearborn Mi. This national festival is the largest arab festival in the US and features ethnic performances representing the diverse heritage of the people of Metropolitan Detroit.

The YMA partakes in this event as part of it's Dawa efforts to reach out to young Muslims attending the festival. The YMA distributes educational material and resources about Islam. The YMA has become a cornerstone for many youth attending the annual festival.
